The NCAA has approved 34 bowl games for this season, with the debut of two new bowl games, the EagleBank Congressional Bowl and the St. Petersburg Bowl. The BCS final regular season rankings for 2008 are in. According to the BCS rankings format, Oklahoma finished number one and Florida finished number two. Rounding out the top five were Texas, Alabama, and USC. Utah and Texas Tech were numbers six and seven. Then Penn State, Boise State, and Ohio State were took the next three spots of the top ten.
Under 2009 BCS schedule rules, number one Oklahoma and number two Florida will face each other in the 2009 BCS Championship Game in Miami.
